Lip Lift
For some clients, their upper lip is naturally too long for their face. For others, the aging process the skin portion of the lip to elongate while the red portion of the lip seems to decrease in size.
A Lip Lift (also called a “Sub-Nasal Lip Lift”) can provide clients with a fuller looking upper lip as well as a wider smile with their teeth being more visible. In the procedure, Dr. Perkins removes a small piece of skin at the nasal base to shorten a “long” upper lip and to allow more of the pink portion of the lip to show. The incision is hidden in the base of the nostrils.
While dermal fillers can add volume to the lip and increase the amount of the red part of their lip that shows, one very nice aspect of a Lip Lift is that the increase in the visual size of the red lips is permanent. Additionally, slightly decreasing the size of the skin above the lips can result in better facial balance and a more natural look. Finally, the procedure allows the teeth to show more when smiling.
