Deep Tissue Massage

A deep, therapeutic massage especially beneficial for anyone who prefers a deeper massage or wishes to target specific areas of chronic muscle tightness. This massage is result-oriented and can be tailored to meet your needs.

60 minutes – $150
90 minutes – $195

Hot Stone Massage

Heated stones are used as extensions of our therapists’ hands to further help aching muscles. The stones are then specifically placed to provide deep penetrating warmth that melts away stress and tension.

75 minutes – $185

Warm Oil Massage

Inspired by the Ayurvedic tradition, this gentle, fluid massage is both relaxing and therapeutic. Your therapist will use the Sundari Ayurvedic oil that most appeals to your senses. This deep form of relaxation nourishes the body and promotes overall health and well being.

60 minutes – $170
90 minutes – $215

Prenatal Massage (given after 1st trimester)

Specifically designed for the expectant mother, this full body massage increases circulation while providing a relaxing and soothing experience.  Prenatal massage can reduce anxiety, improve mood, promote better sleep, and decrease back and leg pain.

Please note that prenatal massages at Evolutions utilize “Side Lying” technique. It is not advisable to be in a prone (lying face down) position during an entire prenatal massage. Direct compression to the lumbar region can increase intra-uterine pressure. Side Lying massage is comfortable and does not put pressure on your lower back or inferior vena cava (the large vein that carries blood from the organs in the abdomen and pelvis back to the heart). The whole body can also be treated from the side lying position.

60 minutes – $150

This is my favorite medical spa.  When I visit Santa Barbara this is my go-to for things relaxing. Even if I go in for my medical spa touch-up, I try to enjoy the full-body scrub.  I love this scrub!  I always leave feeling better and a bit more confident.u003cbru003e

Frequently Asked Questions about Massage in Santa Barbara

A massage is a therapeutic spa treatment that involves the manipulation of muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues in the body. Massage can help to relieve tension, reduce stress, improve circulation, and promote relaxation. There are many different types of massage, including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, and aromatherapy massage.

To prepare for a massage, it is recommended to avoid eating a heavy meal or consuming alcohol beforehand, as this can interfere with the relaxation and therapeutic effects of the massage. It is also important to arrive at the spa on time and in a relaxed state of mind. Some spas may also recommend showering or bathing beforehand to help relax the muscles and prepare the body for the massage.

While massage is generally safe, there are certain conditions that may require caution or modification of the massage techniques. It is important to inform the massage therapist of any medical conditions, injuries, or areas of concern before the massage to ensure that the treatment is safe and effective. In some cases, a massage may need to be avoided or modified, such as in individuals with certain medical conditions or during pregnancy. It is important to consult with a healthcare professional before undergoing a massage if there are any concerns.
