Employee Spotlight: Liz Groom L.E.

What really makes Evolutions special is our wonderful employees.  When we started Evolutions Medical Spa back in 2005 we had 5 employees.  We are now up to 30! They are all great people and they work very hard everyday to make your experience with Evolutions the best it can be.  We are starting this feature to let you know a little bit more about the people that make up the Evolutions’ team. We’ll be highlighting two employees each month.  This month we are highlighting one of our Physician Assistants, Nancy Moharram, and one of our Aestheticians, Liz Groom.

Employee Profile – Liz Groom, L.E.

Liz has been working with Evolutions for almost 4 years and has built a strong following of clients due to her skills as an aesthetician and sweet, genuine personality.  Last year she and her husband David spent 5 months going on a nationwide trip in their RV. Luckily they decided to come back to Santa Barbara in December and are now planning to stay for the foreseeable future.  We (and all of her clients who love her) are glad to have Liz back!

What is the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had (prior to Evolutions)?

For most of my working like I was a personal trainer for 25 years but I think the most unusual and fun job was being a lifeguard at a waterslide park in the summer of 1995 in Chico, CA.

What do you like about working at Evolutions?

We are one big family. Working with people I care about and for people who care about me makes me always want to give 110% every day to Evolutions.

What is your favorite treatment to perform?  Why?

I really enjoy performing our Intraceuticals Oxygen facials. I love how relaxing and instant the results are. Clients feel revived and ready to present their best self to whatever they have planned that day.

What is your preferred treatment at Evolutions to have done?

Laser hair removal. Just makes for more time in the day for life’s adventures!

What is your #1 home care product sold at Evolutions?  Why?

Sunscreen. All kind and brands. Depending on the needs of my clients and friends. I can just see how the sun’s damaging effects can age skin and I want to help slow that process but still support and outdoor lifestyle.

What is your favorite quote / mantra / words of wisdom?

“Life is not a dress rehearsal” Life is precious and unpredictable. Live it to the fullest everyday and don’t ever forget to tell the people you love and care about that you love them, because you never know when you won’t get that chance again.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

I became an Ironman in 2003 at Canada Ironman. I have been to Burning Man 4 times and my daughter Emily is graduating from UCSB this year.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love running and biking, both on the road and on the trails. I also really enjoy swimming, cooking, entertaining, and spending time with my husband David, my daughter, and my friends.
