We often get asked what the difference is between “fillers” and Botox. Botox is a purified protein that is used to treat overactive muscles, temporarily relaxing them to smooth out the wrinkles. Botox is used in the upper face to most commonly treat (in order) the frown lines, crow’s feet, and the forehead. It can be used in other areas of the face and in the neck, as well. Botox also effectively treats hyperhidrosis – excessive sweating – in the hands, feet, and armpits.
Dermal fillers are used to restore volume that is lost in the face as the aging process occurs. Dermal fillers are more commonly used in the lower face – in the cheeks, nasolabial folds, the nose, lips, pre and post-jowl, and the corners of the mouth. Fillers are also used in the brows, temporal and central forehead as well as around the eyes. Dermal fillers are temporary and last between six and twelve (or more) months depending on the brand of filler used. Treatment depends on the size of the tattoo and the number of colors present: majority of treatments are under 5 minutes for a small to medium black tattoo to 10-15 minutes for a medium-sized multi-color tattoo.

Thank you to all who attended our event last week to help us celebrate our 6th anniversary! The party was scheduled to begin at 4PM but we had guests lining up well before that so they could be one of the first 50 people to receive a gift bag which was filled with goodies from Revitalash and NuCelle skin care products in addition to loads of product samples from our preferred skin care companies!
Dr. Perkins and the staff at Evolutions mingled with guests throughout the evening and were delighted to watch guests win prizes on the prize wheel, receive complimentary mini-facial treatments and complimentary Colorescience make-up applications, and enjoy appetizers, cupcakes, and drinks. Many representatives from skin care lines were on-hand for interactive skin care education and took pleasure in seeing how their products or treatments have beautified our clientele!
The party continued the rest of the week as the Evolutions’ staff pulled names of winners for the many different gift baskets and called guests to notify them of their winnings on Friday and Saturday.
